oosur1SUMMARY OF THE SPECIALTY:

The training is conducted by highly qualified lecturers from the three faculties of the Technical University of Gabrovo.

All disciplines are provided with teaching materials. All students have access for the period of study to materials in electronic form in the e-learning platform.

Lectures and exercises are held in the renovated halls and laboratories, equipped with modern equipment. There is an opportunity to work in the computer rooms and use the library. Complete recreation is provided in student dormitories and canteens, as well as in the three holiday bases.

Graduates of the specialty "Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development" with a master's degree are prepared to:

  • work to prevent and control environmental pollution;
  • participate as consultants and independent experts in environmental protection and sustainable development to companies and organizations;
  • participate as consultants in applying for complex permits;
  • manage and work as experts in groups, preparing documents required for the application for complex permits;
  • manage and work in teams for preparation of environmental assessments of plans and programs;
  • perform environmental impact assessment (EIA) for investment proposals for construction, activities and technologies;
  • work in the field of waste management;
  • work on modeling and sustainable development of ecosystems;
  • participate in the management of natural resources;
  • carry out research work on environmental protection and sustainable development;
  • develop and offer normative documents, analyzes, forecasts for environmental protection and sustainable development;
  • develop and implement environmental management systems (EMS);
  • conduct training in environmental protection and sustainable development.

Graduates of the specialty " Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development " with a master's degree can be realized as:

  • managers and specialists in environmental protection services in public and private companies and organizations, regardless of their profile;
  • environmental protection specialists at the municipal administrations;
  • specialists in the operation of drinking and industrial wastewater treatment plants;
  • authors of programs and plans for waste management in various sites or at the municipal level;
  • specialists, independent verifiers of environmental assessments of plans and programs and EIA of investment proposals for construction, activities and technologies;
  • natural resource management specialists;
  • organizers in the implementation of programs for sustainable development, protection of ecosystems and habitats of wild animals;
  • specialists in national and nature parks, basin directorates, etc .;
  • specialists in environmental protection and sustainable development in companies, public administration and non-governmental organizations;
  • employees in the structures of the Ministry of Environment and Water, RIEW, EEA;
  • teachers in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development after acquiring additional pedagogical qualifications.

Graduates of the specialty " Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development " with a master's degree have the opportunity to continue their education in the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" and to participate in various forms of continuing education.
