Завършва машинно инженерство през 1985 г.

Защитава дисертация през 1990 г. за присъждане на научната степен "кандидат на техническите науки" (доктор).

Защитава дисертация през 2003 г. за присъждане на научнатастепен "доктор на техническите науки".

Доцент по механика (1995 г.).

Професор по механика (2004 г.).

Ръководител на лаборатория „Изпитания на металите”.

Главен редактор на списание „Journal of Technical University of Gabrovo”.

Член на Редакторския борд на международното научно списание Coupled Systems Mechanics.

Член на редакторския борд на украинските научни списания „Engineering, Energy, Transport AIC“ и „Vibrations in Engineering and Technology”.

Гост-професор за научни изследвания в университета в Anger, France.
