Training of admitted students

The Technical University of Gabrovo provides a preparatory Bulgarian language course for admitted international students. The training is carried out according to teaching documentation, consisting of a curriculum and study programmes. Its duration is not less than 9 months, with workload of 650 contact hours in Bulgarian language and 350 contact hours in specialized subjects (mathematics and physics for the engineering degree courses, and mathematics and economics for the social and economic degree courses).

The training in Bulgarian language is completed with a written and oral exam before an examination board. Students who complete the preparatory course successfully receive certificates.

Full-time and part-time training for attaining the degree of Bachelor lasts four years. If the bachelor degree holder wishes to acquire Master degree, the course of study is one and a half years (3 semesters) after completion of the Bachelor degree course. Enrolment is also possible in a Master degree course different from the degree course followed for attaining Bachelor degree. In this case the training starts with a preparatory semester for mastering major subjects that are formative for the degree course, and the overall duration of study is up to 5 semesters.

After the successful completion of a full course of study, the Technical University of Gabrovo issues an internationally recognized type of document – diploma for the degree of Bachelor or Master, and a European Diploma Supplement showing the number of academic hours and credits for each subject studied, as well as the grades.

Starting from academic year 2008/2009, the Technical University of Gabrovo offers training in English to international students in some of the degree courses.
