Brief background

Department “ Electric Power Supply and Equipment”  was organized in 1970 under the name of “Electric Machines and Equipment” and began  teaching part-time undergraduates the subject of  “Electric Machines and Units”.

Since 1984 the Department teaches both  full and part-time students in “ Electric Power Supply and Equipment” and since 1997 it  teaches the generalized subject of “Power Engineering and Equipment” as part of the  vocational qualification in “ Electric Engineering, Electronics and Automation”. Bachelor and Master course studies are taught in the Department.

Ph.D courses  are taught in three scientific subjects: 02.04.07 “Lighting  engineering and  lighting sources”, 02.04.10 “Electro-mechanics”, 02.04.15 “Electric power supply and equipment”.

In 1999 г. and  2004 г. the subject “Power engineering and electric equipment” was awarded with a very good grade of  accreditation.

The department teaches full and part-time students in 18 (eighteen) disciplines and  conducts training sessions and tutorials in 9(nine) specialized labs.

Over the period  since the department was organized in 1970 the number of graduates who  have defended their theses and took a Master’s degree amounts to 1353 and another 226 graduated as Bachelors and awarded the title “Electric engineer”.
