BULGARIAN-GERMAN INSTITUTE FOR QUALITY AND INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT Brief History The
Bulgarian-German Institute for Quality and Industrial Management - Ltd (BGIQ)
was incorporated at Gabrovo District Court on 27 July, 1999 with a head office
in Gabrovo.
The Institute was founded with the assistance of German Society for Technical Cooperation - Ltd (GTZ-GmbH). Activities The primary activities of BGIQ are training in the field of quality management systems, environment management systems, food safety management systems, occupational health and safety. Giving consultations to firms for introducing and certifying management systems by ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, AQAP. Facilities and Staff BGIQ
is situated in the Technical University of Gabrovo and has lecture halls and
seminar rooms. Training The BGIQ curricula comprise training courses for Internal Auditors. Besides training courses BGIQ will organize practical seminars in introducing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, AQAP, system reliability analysis, QFD, FMEA, statistical methods, quality costs, process improvement, environment aspects, requirements on quality management systems in car industry according to ISO/TS 16949, as well as in-company training in firms introducing management systems. Consultations BGIQ offers consultations to various enterprises for: production, construction, services and software; when implementing and certifying management systems according to the standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, AQAP. On the basis of all this it could be concluded that BGIQ is the largest and the most complex centre dealing with the problems of quality which along with the other advantages has a strategic location - it is situated a few kilometers away from the Geographic centre of the Republic of Bulgaria.
