Роден на 03.10.1959 г в гр. Долна Оряховица.

Завършва машинно инженерство през 1985 г.

Защитава дисертация през 1990 г. за присъждане на научната степен "кандидат на техническите науки" (доктор).

Защитава дисертацияпрез 2003 г. за присъждане на научнатастепен "доктор на техническите науки".

Доцент по механика (1995 г.).

Професор по механика (2004 г.).

Ръководител на лаборатория „Изпитания на металите”.

Главен редактор на списание „Известия”.

Член на Редакторския борд на международното научно списание Coupled Systems Mechanics.

Гост-професор за научни изследвания в университета в Anger, France.

Носител на златни медали на изложения за изобретения и иновации у нас и в чужбина (Brussels, 2011).

Рецензент в 15 международни научни списание на Elsevier, SAGE, Springer, индексирани от ThompsonReuters, Scopusи др.

Автор е на над 170 научни статии у нас и чужбина; 16 книги; 1 монография в чужбина; над 20 изобретения, защитени с патенти у нас и в чужбина.

  • Синтез и анализ на методи за повишаване на уморната дълготрайност на конструкционни елементи чрез контролирано въвеждане на полезни остатъчни напрежения около естествените концентратори;
  • Моделиране на термо-механични сис­те­ми с дисипативни процеси и опти­ми­зи­ране по обобщен критерий „генерирана ентропия” (респ. „загуба на наличната работа”);
  • CAEсистеми в механика на непрекъснатата среда
